Guest lecture "Social entrepreneur: Journey of change maker"

Objective of the Event: The objective of the activity was to sensitize students about the role of NGO in community engagement and to enlighten the students about avenues in social entrepreneurship to be change maker.

Description: The Department of Management-HRM organised a Guest lecture on "Social entrepreneur: Journey of change maker" for M.B.A Semester-1 students. Mr. Akhilesh maheshwari Founder of 'Naya Sawera' NGO was the resource person of the session. Naya Sawera is one of the leading Youth Base NGO working for the welfare of the people of different underprivileged sections of society by various means. Their aim is to see that no human being is deprived of his basic needs because of poverty. The organization also seeks to support and nurture the talents who cannot avail proper facilities due to their harsh Conditions. Their first project is for the betterment of women in slum areas. They conducted a survey in which they got to know that most of the women are not aware of mensuration. They provide sanitary napkins to the needy women. He is also known as Padman of Jaipur. Their NGO is also providing shelter to children and has an old age home as well.

They are hiring young volunteers as an interns. Their motive is to  leadership skills in young volunteers. As they give complete independence in decision making to their volunteers, which is not catered by any other organization. They try to inculcate a sense of purpose and insight in the young minds and this gives them a head start in facing the turmoil of tomorrow.

To encourage more youth participation, they organize various campaigns and youth friendly events. Their motive behind this effort is to form a committed team of young individuals who can together mitigate all the problems of tomorrow.

Outcome of the event: The students gained insights about the journey of a social entrepreneur and the contribution of NGO in community engagement.
