The Department of HRM & IB in collaboration with Training and placement cell organized a guest lecture on “Contemporary trends in HRM” on 27th July, 2015 in E-201 coordinated by Mrs. Shivi Saxena and Ms. Srishti Agarwal. Various contemporary topics related to HRM like performance management, recruitment, changing role of HR manager etc. were discussed.
To throw some light on this subject, speaker on the occasion was Mr. Vikas Pareekh, currently an advocate at Rajasthan High Court practicing in Arbitration, Conciliation, Service and Industrial Laws and had been the founder member of Prakarsh Foundation (a society for promoting social justice) and Propeller & Navigator (an engineering and management consulting firm), where he is practicing management. One of his milestoneexperiences was as Functional Consultant with Eurosoft Technologies WLL, Bahrain for designing and implementation of Logistics and Maintenance Management System for Bahrain Defense Force, the joint military command of Bahrain.
To begin with, Mr. Vikas Pareekh was extended a floral welcome by Dr. Ankita Jain (Formenr HOD, Department of HRM & IB) and memento was given by Dr. Seema Singh Rathore, HOD, Department of HRM & IB. He was then invited to give his talk. He discussed the importance of human resources in the proper functioning of organization by narrating real life experiences from army. His lecture enlightened the students on various issues like how to prepare for interview, what are the roles and responsibilities of HR manager.
This lecture was very informative and provided great learning to all students of the department.
