Objective: 

This course has been designed to introduce the students to applications of computers to manage different operation of organizations. It provides them an opportunity to study the hands-on implementation of different technologies in corporate environment.

Information Management

Introduction, Classification of Information, Current trends in information Technology. Spread Sheet: Introduction, operations on spreadsheet and workbooks, Filling series, sort, and Formatting worksheet. Basic Spread Sheet Functions: cell referencing (Relative, Absolute, Mixed). Inbuilt function (SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, MIN, IF), Protecting worksheets ,Charts in Excel: types, create chart from adjacent data/ nonadjacent data, data series, editing and formatting ,printing chart

Sensitivity Analysis using Spread Sheet

Filter, Advance Filter, Goal Seek, Solver, Scenario Manager, Consolidate, Subtotal, V lookup, H Lookup, pivot table, pivot chart, Freeze Panes. Advance Spread Sheet Functions & tools: Logical Function, Date and time function, Financial function, macro, OLE (object linking and embedding).

MIS Definition, Nature & Scope, MIS Characteristics, Functions, Structure of MIS, Role of MIS, MIS as a Control System, , MIS & decision-making, Applications of MIS: Introduction, personnel, production, materials, marketing management.

Database Management System

Introduction, Types of Database, System Decomposition, MS Access : database structure, Data types, Creating Tables, table fields, Primary keys and field validation and record validation rules, multiple tables , relationships , Sort & Filter in table, Select data with queries: Creating query by design & by wizard, Creating basic forms & Reports.

E –Commerce & Recent Trends in IT

Introduction to E-commerce , E-Business Fundamentals, Different types of E business model as B2B, B2C, C2C, C2B,G2C. Recent Trends in IT:- Wireless Access Technologies, GSM, GPS, GPRS, Bluetooth, Infrared, 3G & 4G technologies, RFID.
