Objective of the workshop: The objective of the workshop was to familiarize the students with the Proquest and update their knowledge with its functioning.

Description: Department of HRM & IB organized a workshop on “Proquest-An E-Learning Resource” for the undergraduate and postgraduate students of the department on Friday, 5th August 2017 in Lab D coordinated by Dr. Roopam Kothari and Dr. Mahima Rai.

The speaker of the lecture was Mr. Sanjay Kumar Rajan, the Training and Consulting partner-Asia Pacific.

To begin with Mr. Sanjay Rajan was welcomed by Dr. Roopam Kothari. He was then invited to give his talk. He discussed the importance of relevant information for the completion of research works. Furthermore, he familiarised the students with the Proquest and updated their knowledge with its functioning, how to connect with it, its content including dissertations, newspapers, e-books, periodicals, historical collections, articles on various subjects like business, management, marketing etc.

Resource Person highlighted that vast content available on Proquest allows serious research of virtually any research topic from multiple perspectives and across multiple formats. Precision search of the content is enabled through ProQuest’s renowned ability to structure data for simple access and discovery by students, scholars and information seekers of all kinds.

At the end he concluded with famous Buddhist philosophy-“Pray before meal”. He linked the same to make the students understandthat they should always have gratitude for information and the source of information.

Outcome of the workshop: The students became familiar with the features of Proquest which they can use to fulfill their quest for knowledge and data generation.
