Objective of the workshop: The objective of the workshop was to elaborate the usage and benefits of using Proquest database.

Description: On 1st February 2017, a workshop on Proquest database was organized by the Department of Management: HRM & IB. The workshop was conducted by Mr.Sanjay Rajan (Training and Consultant Partner Asia Pacific, ProQuest) who gave the presentation to elaborate the usage and benefits of using Proquest database. He explained that this online database is committed towards empowering researchers and librarians around the world.  Its innovative information content and technologies increase the productivity of students, scholars, professionals and the libraries that serve them. For academic, corporate, government, school and public libraries, as well as professional researchers, it provides services that enable strategic acquisition, management and discovery of information collections.

In his presentation, Mr. Rajan showed the way to use this online database. Proquest is not only effective in completion of project reports but also is a platform that provides information regarding the latest jobs which makes it useful for the present as well as future context for its users. It’s key features includes that it is mobile friendly, saves the data in order to avoid  data loss , helps to share information via emails and also provide alerts regarding the updates which again enhances its importance. Also this database supports the facility of providing data through various books, magazines , journals and also provides an opportunity to the scholars to get their reports published and earn.

The workshop was very informative for the students as well as for the faculty members. It contributed to an understanding for using the Proquest database. It was an interactive session which deserves well appreciation. Such workshops can be really useful from the career aspects of the students.

Outcome of the workshop: The students were able to gain the basic understanding of using the Proquest database.
