Objective of the Event: The objective of the activity was to help the students know about entrepreneurship opportunities in the market and help them to start up their business.

Description: Commerce & Management Department of IIS (deemed to be university) organised the Orientation Programme – Day 10 for Post Graduate students . With warm welcome, Dr. Nivedita Singh ma'am( Associate professor, department of HRM and IB ) familiarised the students about community engagement service.

Community engagement service provide service opportunities to work for the welfare of society .

Working for a group of people collaborating for the betterment of people .Then She enlightened  about community engagement

Community means group of people who have some kind of interest , and Engagement means relationship and participation .

She enlightened  about the benefits of community engagement - communication, leadership skill , confidence and collaboration  and expose of these skills .

Community engagement means to focus on community expectations, assets , needs , and evaluating solution to issue , value community members as equal partner  , increase the level of trust and  communication .

Community engagement requires identifying a goal, considering what you know about your residents and city, and acting on that knowledge to inform your city’s engagement plan. It is an iterative process with a lot of potential tools to help you along the way.

This paper has been added in syllabus to make students aware about the problems that our community faces, this will help students to thinks on community problems and how they can contribute in the betterment of community by working on these issues like, women empowerment, health and sanitation drive, social welfare drive

 

Outcome of the event: The session were really inspired and were encouraged to follow their passion according to their skills.
