Objective of the activity: To create awareness among the students about voting rights and gender discrimination
Summary/description (max 500 words): The Internal Complaints Committee organized a film sreening for the students to observe Discrimination against women Pakhwada as per the AICTE guidelines. The film focused on women’s fight for equality especially the fundamental right – Right to vote. The film is inspired by true events about the women who decided to take a stand and change their situation and status in the society. The film is an eye opener to those who are casual about democratic gender equality. Votes for women was not something common and acceptable back in the time, it did not evolve naturally but was fought for. The movie screening was held with the motive of creating awareness about women’s participation in the political front, the discrimination they face due to lack of representatives and proposer participation in the legislature.
Outcome of the activity: The activity helped to raise questions on gender based discrimination in political sphere of the society.
